Thanksgiving and Tree Lighting

 Adam's dad, John, just left after visiting for a couple weeks. It was a really great visit and we got to do a lot of fun things and touring around. While he was here we had our first American/Aussie Thanksgiving. There was only 5 adults and 2 kids so we didn't get a whole turkey. Instead we had a little chicken and a mini ham, along with many sides! We celebrated with our neighbors and although there was no pumpkin pie, it was still a great feast! It was so hot this weekend that with the oven on for so long that day and running around cooking, I felt like I was being cooked from the inside out.

Summer starts on 1 December so it's still spring here. And along with spring comes spring weather. It's been all over the place and rainy. Sydney has some of the most extreme weather swings that I've ever experienced. One day it can be 15 degrees Celcius and the next day it can be 39!
We headed into the city for the Christmas Tree Lighting(which is still weirding me out-this whole Christmas in the heat thing) And it made it seem a little bit more like home because it was actually a little chilly. They had some really famous performers throughout and heaps of fireworks afterwards. Both Myla and Izzy loved the fireworks!
After being here for 8 months now, we feel blessed. So much to be thankful for. We love our new home (not too much not to come home, dont worry) and love
the little community we've established here. We are looking forward to heading into this holiday season remembering Christ's sacrifice for us and remembering the whole reason for this season.
